RESPONSIBILITIESJob DescriptionWood is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer with good SPEL experience to be part of our engineering team in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Electrical engineering design and analysis.
- Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
- Effective technical and practical skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to WOOD and its clients.
- Previous experience of performing Site Survey to collect electrical data required for design.
- Prepare and manage complete electrical system databases using SPEL.
- Extract deliverables, such as:
- Electrical load lists and summaries
- Cable schedules and sizing
- Motor lists and datasheets
- Single-line and interconnection diagrams
- Manage libraries, data dictionaries, and perform admin-level activities.
- Prepare SPEL implementation and database handover packages for clients.
- Resolve and manage queries related to SPEL databases, considering client specifications.
- Prepare databases for client audits and address audit punch points.
- Experience in Assess Study, Concept Selection, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Engineering jobs.
- Experience in Brownfield Jobs such as preparation of Modification scope of Work.
- Experience to perform all associated electrical calculations such as equipment sizing (switchgears, Transformers, Generators), Cable sizing, Subsea Cable Sizing, UPS Sizing, Lighting and Earthing calculations.
- Experience of preparing Electrical Control System I/O List.
- Experience of preparing Material Purchase Specifications, Technical Bids Evaluation, Technical Clarifications, Scope of Works, Review of Vendor Offers.
- Experience of the application of HAZOP, E-HAZOP, 3D Model and Constructability Review to Electrical design.
- Experience with Electrical design for prefabricated/modular packaged equipment.
- Experience in Power System modelling and study on ETAP for performing following studies: Short Circuit, Load, Flow, Motor Starting.
- Experience of working on SPEL Software.
- Ability to develop Electrical Specifications, Datasheets, Schedules, Layout Drawings, Electrical MTO.
- Previous experience of working in the UAE.
- Proficient in the use of Navisworks, Lighting calculation Software (Dialux etc.) and MS-office.
- Good Oral and Communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate team working skills.
- Flexible with a can-do attitude.

- Professional Accreditation from recognized institute (preferable)
- Middle East Experience
