Role Overview

The role holder is responsible for supporting the service sales operations including estimations, preparing maintenance contracts and negotiating contract renewals. The role holder maintains contracts database in the MIS system to ensure effective tracking of the sales pipeline. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

On a typical day you will:

  1. Manage a portfolio of elevator units through maintaining good working relationships with existing customers
  2. Serve as primary contact for timely resolution of customer needs surrounding inquiries
  3. Develop build-on repair and modernization sales through networking, bids and tenders
  4. Develop your own sales strategy to achieve sales targets, ensuring profitability
  5. Use Otis’ sales tools to effectively track opportunities, pipeline, and forecast sales results
  6. Conduct sales negotiations and close deals, ensuring payment on time
  7. Collaborate with fellow team members, including other sales representatives and field colleagues
  8. Provides management information and insights on all dimensions of work area performance to facilitate discussion and decision making, both on a periodic basis and for ad-hoc management requests.
  9. Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  10. Works under the guidance of the Manager – Service Sales
  11. Prepares estimates and issues quotations for additional repairs, upgrading of units and modernization.
  12. Liaises with clients to hunt new client, negotiate maintenance contract for non-Otis recoveries and Modernization, ensuring all potential client risks are addressed under the renewal terms.
  13. Ensures critical actions on all contracts including “SPL - special contracts” are captured to minimize Otis – Entity’s contractual risk.
  14. Executes sales strategies to recover lost units, modernization and actively pursues clients to ensure unit recovery on favorable terms for Otis – Entity.
  15. Develops a strong relationship with clients by regularly engaging with key contacts and understanding their needs.
  16. Coordinates with the Aftermarket and Service Department to ensure that the terms and conditions of all maintenance/repair/modernization agreements are implemented.
  17. Assists the Finance Department with the timely collection of payments based on contracting agreements.
  18. Maintains and updates the maintenance contracts database in the SMS system and provides periodic reports from this and other relevant sources to show the latest status of all contract activity.
  19. Executes sales operations with strict compliance to the quality procedures & ISO policies of the company.
  20. Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
  21. Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
  22. Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
  23. Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.

What you will need to be successful

  1. You have a business or technical degree or have completed training as a technician or technical business administrator, with a minimum of 5 years' work experience
  2. You have some experiences in the sale of technical products requiring customer consultation
  3. You have a strong customer and service orientation, including excellent interpersonal skills
  4. You have strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customers
  5. You are target focused, with the ability to work at pace in a demanding, complex, corporate organization
  6. Fluent written and spoken English essential.
