The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a Facility Management Officer to oversee and ensure the effective management of university facilities and operations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality environment for students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facility operations, asset management, security coordination, and vendor relations while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a higher diploma.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the UAE.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Preferably bilingual (fluent in English and Arabic).
Excellent communication and influencing skills (both verbal and written).
Flexibility with work timings and the ability to work independently.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate with suppliers to provide transportation and other support services for students, faculty, and staff.
Update and maintain reports related to university transportation services, basement card reports, and monthly departmental operations.
Conduct and document regular facility inspections and assist in department operations (reception, facilities management, asset management, procurement, and stores management).
Maintain records of tasks assigned to office assistants, drivers, and maintenance personnel.
Ensure the facility is clean and maintained according to university policies and procedures.
Report to the Facility Manager and follow instructions on daily campus operations.
Implement and maintain asset management processes, including inventory, issuance, utilization, and records.
Coordinate with procurement for purchases of furniture, equipment, and materials, ensuring records are updated.
Assist in daily security operations, including access control procedures, lost and found services, and incident reporting.
Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the university’s mission, aligning with advancement and fundraising plans.
Cultivate relationships with donors to ensure continued engagement and support for the institution.
