Lifting Supervisor

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lifting Supervisor to join our engineering team in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all lifting operations on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards while promoting a culture of safety and efficiency. This role is critical to the successful execution of our projects, requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of lifting operations and equipment. The Lifting Supervisor will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and coordinate all lifting operations on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
2. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for lifting operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
3. Supervise and manage the lifting team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are adequately trained and equipped.
4. Communicate with project managers and engineers to understand lifting requirements and project timelines, ensuring that all operations are aligned with project goals.
5. Maintain and oversee the maintenance of lifting equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in safe and working condition.
6. Develop and implement safe lifting plans, ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with industry best practices.
7. Conduct training sessions for lifting personnel, ensuring that they are knowledgeable about equipment operation and safety protocols.
8. Investigate any incidents or accidents related to lifting operations and report findings to management, recommending improvements where necessary.
9. Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all lifting operations, maintaining records of inspections, maintenance, and incidents.
10. Promote a culture of safety on-site, encouraging team members to prioritize safety and report any unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lifting Supervisor or in a similar role within the engineering industry.
• In-depth knowledge of lifting operations, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Valid lifting supervisor certification and relevant safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to work in the field and adapt to changing site conditions.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
