General Underwriter
Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand clients' insurance needs and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Review and analyze client insurance portfolios to identify gaps in coverage.
- Obtain quotes from insurance companies or prepare quotes (In-house options) and negotiate terms and pricing.
- Prepare and present insurance proposals to clients/agents.
- Coordinate the placement of insurance policies and ensure timely issuance of the policy documents.
- Review policy terms and conditions to ensure accuracy and adequacy of coverage.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, sales agents, and insurance companies.
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurance companies to resolve issues and address concerns.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell insurance products to existing clients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate client records, policy documents, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist clients with the claims process by providing guidance and support.
- Liaise with insurance companies and claims adjusters to expedite claim resolution.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure fair and equitable claim settlements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UAE insurance industry, preferably in a brokerage environment.
- Strong understanding of various lines of insurance, including property, casualty, liability, engineering, and other commercial lines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and insurer relationships.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and insurance agency management systems.
