General Underwriter

Job Responsibilities:

1. Understand clients' insurance needs and provide appropriate recommendations.
2. Review and analyze client insurance portfolios to identify gaps in coverage.
3. Obtain quotes from insurance companies or prepare quotes (In-house options) and negotiate terms and pricing.
4. Prepare and present insurance proposals to clients/agents.
5. Coordinate the placement of insurance policies and ensure timely issuance of the policy documents.
6. Review policy terms and conditions to ensure accuracy and adequacy of coverage.
7. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, sales agents, and insurance companies.
8. Act as a liaison between clients and insurance companies to resolve issues and address concerns.
9. Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell insurance products to existing clients.
10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
11. Maintain accurate client records, policy documents, and other relevant documentation.
12. Assist clients with the claims process by providing guidance and support.
13. Liaise with insurance companies and claims adjusters to expedite claim resolution.
14. Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure fair and equitable claim settlements.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UAE insurance industry, preferably in a brokerage environment.
3. Strong understanding of various lines of insurance, including property, casualty, liability, engineering, and other commercial lines.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and insurer relationships.
6. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and insurance agency management systems.
