RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all contractual matters in projects within the oil and gas sector, overseeing mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering scopes. This role ensures that contracts are compliant with legal standards and align with project goals, managing risk while optimizing profitability and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for projects related to mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines.
2. Ensure contracts comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
3. Monitor contract performance, addressing deviations and implementing corrective actions.
4. Identify potential risks in contracts and develop mitigation strategies.
5. Provide guidance on contract terms and conditions to minimize financial and legal exposure.
6. Participate in pre-bid meetings and tender preparation, ensuring contractual terms are favorable.
7. Analyze bids and evaluate contractors' and subcontractors' capabilities.
8. Liaise between project teams, clients, and legal departments to ensure clear communication and alignment.
9. Facilitate resolution of contractual disputes with clients, vendors, or subcontractors.
10. Ensure compliance with oil and gas industry standards, local laws, and international regulations.
11. Maintain comprehensive contract records and documentation.
12. Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to contractual obligations.
13. Evaluate claims, variations, and change orders, ensuring cost recovery and minimizing financial risk.
14. Provide support during project execution phases, ensuring contract compliance and alignment with project milestones.
15. Participate in contract close-out activities, ensuring all obligations are met.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical) or Law.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Contract Management is a plus.

Certifications:

• Certification in Contract Management (e.g., IACCM, NCMA) is advantageous.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

• 10-15 years of relevant experience.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in contract management within the oil and gas sector.
• Proven experience managing contracts in mechanical, civil, and electrical projects.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
