The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area. They will assist with the preparation and storage of food, as well as the washing of dishes and utensils. The Kitchen Steward will also ensure compliance with food safety regulations and assist in inventory management.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Assist in the preparation and storage of food items.
Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, silverware, and glassware.
Empty and clean trash receptacles in the kitchen area.
Sweep and mop floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
