Job Summary:
As an Executive in Pricing for Ocean Freight, you will play a pivotal role in determining competitive and profitable pricing strategies. Your responsibilities include analyzing market trends, negotiating rates with carriers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal pricing structures. The role demands a keen understanding of the shipping industry and a strategic mindset to drive revenue growth. In addition, you will be overseeing seamless collaboration between commercial and operations departments, ensuring daily client updates;
managing global network offices for cargo logistics and maintaining relationships with local vendors (shipping lines, airlines, transporters).
In this capacity you will be responsible for ensuring timely invoicing in alignment with pre-established credit terms and efficiently managing diverse tasks, showcasing strong time management skills to meet daily goals.
In conclusion the position requires cultivation of positive relationships with existing clients to enhance DP WORLD LOGISTICS customer portfolio through a professional and friendly approach.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage procurement, pricing, customer service, and claims procedures within the DP WORLD LOGISTICS commercial department .
- Stay abreast of industry regulations, global economic factors, and geopolitical events that impact ocean freight pricing, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Employ strong professional communication skills to update DP WORLD LOGISTICS clients on shipment statuses.
- Monitor daily emails, ensuring timely and professional communication with internal and external customers.
- Execute comprehensive data entry across DP WORLD LOGISTICS’ various departments' operating systems and CRM.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, co-loaders, vendors, and airlines to secure optimal pricing.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of pricing strategies, making adjustments as needed to enhance profitability.
- Resolve customer complaints and inquiries, providing guidance for efficient order processing through effective communication.
- Deliver prompt and quality responses to inquiries from customers, overseas agents, and vendors regarding ocean freight forwarding.
- Offer advice on declines, presenting suitable logistic solutions and answering related questions.
- Develop and present supply chain proposals to Ad hoc clients for timely responses to rate requests
- Communicate with origin and destination officers and agents for ocean freight pricing requests, ensuring diligent follow-up on pending jobs and inquiries
- Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to pricing, highlighting areas for improvement.
- Liaise and coordinate with suppliers and third-party logistics vendors to arrange outsourced jobs to them on behalf of DP WORLD LOGISTICS.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
Essential Qualification: Graduate in relevant field.
Work Experience: 3-5 Years’ Experience in pricing & procurement, specializing in Ocean Freight.
Technical skills required to perform the role: Commercial experience and business acumen in communication as well as relevant operating systems.
