As an Automotive Electrician, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in vehicles to ensure optimal performance. Your responsibilities will include inspecting vehicle electrical systems, identifying issues using diagnostic tools, and repairing or replacing faulty components such as wiring, fuses, and batteries. Additionally, you will be tasked with installing new electrical systems, such as lighting, alarms, and entertainment systems, as well as providing general maintenance to prevent future electrical problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, circuits, and systems in automotive vehicles.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in vehicles, including lighting, ignition, and security systems.
Test and repair starters, generators, and fuel injection systems.
Install and repair electrical components such as alternators, batteries, and wiring harnesses.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve electrical problems efficiently.
Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems in vehicles.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in automotive electrical systems to enhance knowledge and skills.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and services provided for documentation and billing purposes.
Collaborate with other automotive technicians and mechanics to address complex electrical issues and deliver high-quality service to customers.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a formal automotive technology program or apprenticeship.
Certification as an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Technician preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical systems in vehicles.
Prior experience working as an automotive electrician is a plus.
