Butler Supervisor
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Manage, train, and supervise a team of butlers.
- Assign tasks and duties to team members based on guest needs and schedules.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to improve service quality.
- Ensure that guests' requests and needs are handled promptly, professionally, and with attention to detail.
- Oversee the preparation and serving of meals, drinks, and any special events requested by the guests.
- Handle VIP guests or high-profile individuals with discretion and privacy.
- Supervise the daily operations of the butler team, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that the service is flawless.
- Maintain the inventory of items needed for service, such as linens, toiletries, and other guest supplies.
- Monitor cleanliness and readiness of rooms and common areas.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guests during their stay.
- Handle guest complaints or issues, ensuring a quick and effective resolution.
- Provide personalized services, from unpacking luggage to organizing transportation.
- Create and maintain schedules for the butler team to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Coordinate with other hotel or estate departments (such as housekeeping, kitchen, or security) to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure all service standards and procedures are met to maintain a high level of service quality.
- Check that all staff members are properly groomed and in uniform, adhering to the established standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of guests at all times.
- Be mindful of sensitive information and personal preferences shared by guests.
- Handle any administrative duties such as maintaining records, inventories, or guest feedback forms.
- Report any maintenance or supply issues to the appropriate departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (required); Bachelor's degree in hospitality preferred.
- Butler or hospitality certifications are a plus.
- 3-5 years in the hospitality industry, especially in luxury services.
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a similar role.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with hospitality software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of food, beverage, and luxury service standards.
- Professional appearance, discretion, and adaptability.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Multilingual skills are a plus, especially for international settings.
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks when needed.
