We are looking to hire an experienced Physical Education Teacher for a reputable School in Al Ain. The Physical Education Teacher (PET) is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and social skills among students. The PET will teach a variety of physical activities and foster an environment that encourages students to engage in physical exercise and sports.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging physical education curricula that meet state and national standards.
Instruction: Teach a variety of physical activities including sports, fitness, and health education tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
Assessment: Evaluate student progress through tests, observations, and assessments to monitor fitness levels and skill development.
Safety: Ensure a safe environment by teaching proper techniques, enforcing safety rules, and conducting regular equipment checks.
Motivation: Inspire and motivate students to participate in physical activities and foster a lifelong appreciation for fitness.
Collaboration: Work with other teachers, coaches, and staff to promote a holistic approach to student health and wellness.
Communication: Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding progress, participation, and any concerns.
Professional Development: Stay updated on new teaching methods, sports, and health trends through workshops and professional development opportunities.
Extracurricular Activities: Organize and oversee extracurricular activities such as sports teams, fitness clubs, or health awareness events.
Behavior Management: Foster a positive learning environment by implementing effective classroom management strategies.
Requirements
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field.
Valid state teaching certification or licensure in physical education.
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
Experience:
13 years experience in teaching physical education at the elementary, middle, or high school level (preferred).
Involvement in coaching or leading extracurricular sports or fitness activities (preferred).
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and adapt to varying skill levels.
Knowledge of various sports, fitness activities, and health education topics. Proficient in classroom management techniques and fostering a positive learning environment.
