OPERATOR - RAIL CRANE

Key Accountabilities:

1. Ensure crane traveling path is clear from obstruction.
2. Ensure safe lifts operation from jetty to ships and ships to jetty.
3. Monitor UHF radio communication.
4. Conduct daily inspection checklist prior to starting the crane.
5. Follow instructions laid down in the Crane Safe Operation Handbook.
6. Complete the assigned tasks within the time frame and set man-hours target.
7. Follow operating procedures and instructions given by foreman/supervision.
8. Perform routine checklist and inspection of equipment prior to starting work.
9. Report damage/unsafe conditions to supervisor.
10. Follow day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work and to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property and environment.
11. Monitor weather conditions and report to crane control center as required.
12. Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of the equipment.
13. Verify the securing and lashing of loads before operation.
14. Verify load weight and location.

Education/Experience & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Operational experience with Rail Crane/Heavy Equipment handling.
Ability to identify breakdowns and troubleshoot.
