Job description

Housekeeping Supervisor Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and lead housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry personnel, and public area cleaners.
  2. Schedule staff shifts and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient operation.
  3. Conduct training for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.
  4. Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  5. Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
  6. Address and resolve any issues or deficiencies identified during inspections.
  7. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  8. Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
  9. Order and replenish supplies as needed, maintaining cost control measures.
  10. Ensure proper storage and handling of all cleaning supplies and equipment.
  11. Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
  12. Coordinate with the front desk and other departments to meet guest needs.
  13. Ensure guest rooms are prepared and available for check-in according to hotel standards.
  14. Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including cleaning schedules, inventory, and staff performance.
  15. Prepare reports on housekeeping operations and submit them to management.
  16. Assist in budget preparation and cost management for the housekeeping department.
  17. Identify opportunities for improving housekeeping processes and procedures.
  18. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  19. Stay updated on industry trends and new cleaning technologies.
