Job description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing HSE plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as client requirements.
  • Ensure training, toolbox meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the training and HSE program, i.e., emergency response systems, etc.
  • Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned for promulgation to the management.
  • Oversee day-to-day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility. Assistance in the implementation of HSE component.
  • Assist in the development of project specific HSE procedures.
  • Conduct HSE trainings and orientation to all new employees as required.
  • Application of hazard identification and risk assessment processes in designated areas of responsibility and implementation of appropriate control measures to reduce the risks to ALARP.
  • Ensure HSE requirements are communicated to all relevant personnel in designated areas of responsibility and verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits).
  • Promote HSE awareness through participating in HSE awareness campaigns.
  • Participate fully and openly in all compliance assurance audits, inspections, performance meetings, etc.
  • Carry out other related tasks as advised by the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor Degree (4 years) OR Diploma (3 years) from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees in the country of issue.
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.
  • Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/ ISO 14001).
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in HSE in any industry, with at least 1 year experience in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects/operations/production in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.

Desired Candidate Profile

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to conduct HSE orientation/induction/HSE awareness sessions to workers.
  • Ability to understand and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures/plans and site specific HSE procedures/work instructions.
  • Practical experience in implementation of Safe System of Work (PTW/WMS/Risk Assessment etc.).
  • Awareness of practical H2S control measures.
  • Ability to conduct HSE inspections.
  • Ability to understand and implement incident reporting and investigation procedures.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English with good communication skills.
