Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minor flaws and deviations from quality standards, even in complex systems, is critical for identifying and preventing quality issues.

  2. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess quality issues, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  3. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems: Familiarity with industry-standard quality systems like ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management (TQM) is essential for designing and implementing quality assurance strategies.

  4. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of the technical aspects of the products or services being produced, including materials, design specifications, and manufacturing processes.

  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills are necessary to work across departments, coordinate quality efforts, and deliver feedback to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  6. Project Management: Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple quality-related tasks, audits, and initiatives simultaneously.

  7. Statistical and Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret quality data. Proficiency in statistical tools such as SPC (Statistical Process Control), Pareto analysis, or Minitab to analyze and interpret quality data is often essential.

  8. Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to product quality, process inefficiencies, or regulatory non-compliance.

  9. Testing and Inspection Tools: Knowledge of the various tools and methods used for inspection and testing, such as calipers, micrometers, spectrometers, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.


Desired Candidate Profile

Job Description

  • Maintain a schedule of submissions and responses, for approvals, inspections, variations, etc.
  • Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Account.
  • Recording and monitoring of all site activities and costs being expended on the project.
  • Tabulation of Price Comparison and Cost Summary.
  • Reconciliation of materials and works executed during the month.
  • Preparation of Sub Contractors payments and recording/monitoring of all site works.
  • Maintain all MEP QS documents and logs/registers applicable.

Skills

  • Extensive lead quantity surveying experience working across major construction projects.
  • Extensive experience working within engineering or project-based quantity surveying/estimating environments.
  • Ability to successfully manage and supervise a team of Quantity Surveyors.
  • Experience/knowledge of QS related software.
  • Strong QS functional skills combined with solid all-round project management including a working knowledge of the tender process, contract administration, client/stakeholder management, and project delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage timeframes, cost consciousness, and drive for achievement.
