Position: Pastry Chef

Our client, a renowned luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join their team.

Job Description: We are looking for a creative and skilled Pastry Chef to join our prestigious hotel in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts, pastries, and other baked goods. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for overseeing the entire pastry department, including menu planning, ordering ingredients, and managing a team of pastry cooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create new pastry and dessert recipes that meet the hotel's standards and guest's expectations.
  • Plan and manage the production of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the hotel's restaurants, banquets, and other events.
  • Ensure that all pastries and desserts are prepared and presented according to the hotel's standards and recipes.
  • Train and supervise a team of pastry cooks, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality and timely production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with other chefs and food and beverage managers to develop new menus and promotions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, and incorporate them into the pastry department's offerings.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts.
  • Strong knowledge of various pastry techniques and methods.
  • Creativity and passion for creating visually appealing and delicious desserts.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with food and labor cost control.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

  • Rolling Pins: For rolling dough to the desired thickness, essential in making pies, tarts, and pastries.
  • Baking Molds and Tins: Used for shaping cakes, tarts, and pastries (e.g., tart pans, bundt pans, muffin tins).
  • Bench Scrapers: For cutting and handling dough, as well as cleaning down work surfaces.
  • Chocolate Tempering Equipment: For melting and tempering chocolate at precise temperatures.
  • Dough Cutters: For cutting pastry dough into desired shapes and sizes (e.g., cookie cutters, pastry wheel).
  • Food Scales: Precise weighing of ingredients to ensure accurate recipes and consistent results.
  • Spatulas, Whisks, and Spoons: Essential tools for mixing, stirring, and handling ingredients.
