Job Summary
Conventional/ Manual Lathe Machine Operator responsible for the manufacturing of Power Section (Stator & Rotor) by following procedures and SOP.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Stators and Rotors for usage in oilfield directional drilling.
- Follow procedures related to stator and rotor manufacturing process.
- Review the necessary manufacturing procedures frequency to be fluent and aware of the critical parameters related to the process.
- Verify quality control checks at each manufacturing process, prior to planning or transferring the job to the next process of manufacturing.
- Support and participate in the Organizations Continual Improvement program and any problem-solving initiatives.
- Follow the operating procedures (SOP) and perform the task based on the Job Hazard analysis performed.
- Operation of overhead cranes in the movement of parts or products.
- Select the required tools as per component and programming.
- Record the inspection results in respective format.
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
- Report any abnormalities or variations observed in the manufacturing process to the concerned parties.
- Ensure the tools, gauges and equipment used in manufacturing are maintained properly.
- Verify the calibration date of inspection tools, prior to inspection.
- Document and maintain checklist, paper routers, or any ERP system that are in place.
- Assist and support in the repair work of any machine or areas in the facility.
- Handling of products, tubes & core at elevated temperatures by following the necessary safety procedures.
- Follow the housekeeping as per the 5S requirements.
- Suggest or raise observation on any improvements, risk, safety concerns and good practices.
- Ensure to comply with all NOV HSE procedures and policies and maintain relevant HSE logs.
- Observe HSE regulations, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
Behavioral Skills/Competencies & Experience Required
- Perform daily operator checklist of machines.
- Capture/measure necessary process parameters and record the readings.
- Ensure controlled use of elastomer & chemicals issued to the shop floor.
- Check the stator or rotor prior to starting any process and report if in doubt.
- Ensure the stator/rotor is processed to the next step only after complete review of task performed.
- Ensure machines are running as per the requirement.
- Assist maintenance technicians when critical machine breakdowns are attended.
- Provide training to any new hire / operators that are under the certification program.
- Contribute to cost reduction efforts by actively seeking and reporting opportunities for reduced costs.
- Other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications: (Education/No. of Years of Experience)
- High School Diploma or equivalent with knowledge in basic math.
Skills, Training, Special Knowledge, and/or Language Skills
- Knowledge of the proper use of measuring tools/gauge and tools.
- Understand routers, drawings and procedures.
- Experience operating Machines such as conventional/ Manual Lathes machines in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Able to communicate in English (both writing and orally).
- Experience in safe use of power tools used in Manufacturing Industries.
