Broadcast Technician
Job description
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain broadcasting equipment including cameras, video switchers, audio consoles, lighting systems, and other related equipment
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on broadcasting equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Set up and operate broadcast control room during live broadcasts, including managing audio and video signals
- Collaborate with producers and directors to bring their creative vision to life through technical execution
- Assist in the planning and execution of live broadcasts and recorded programs
- Monitor and adjust audio and video quality to maintain a high standard of broadcast quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe and efficient operations
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent in Broadcasting, Electronics, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Broadcast Technician or similar role
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting broadcasting equipment, such as cameras, switchers, and audio consoles
- Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues
- Knowledge of broadcast signal flow and audio/video signal types
- Familiarity with broadcast automation systems and software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced broadcasting environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
