Job Objectives (Summary of overall job purpose)
Planning to ensure that Blasting Painting activities are conducted in a safe manner, in accordance with specifications and within the Budgeted Time and Manpower Allocation.
Key Responsibilities
Policies, Processes & Procedures:
Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Follow and comply with information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information/intellectual properties.
Day-to-day operations:
Work and perform in accordance with specification and work instruction.
Reporting progress, maintaining production records and monitoring material usage.
Liaise with project manager and owner representative to ensure that other departments are synchronized and meet set targets.
Ensuring efficient and effective manpower loading on completion program.
Identifying and acting upon opportunities for improvement to work & safety related matters.
Participate in accident investigation, root cause analysis and provide assistance in preparing reports.
Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department/section to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
Motivate, direct, align and guide the team for the best performance, monitor performance and provide continuous appraisal and feedback.
Resolve all work-related issues by finding the way to do the jobs as instructed.
Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
Liaise with other discipline foremen/supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor, such as resource shortfalls, surplus, and HSEQ concerns.
Provide feedback regarding performance appraisal of workers to the department manager via supervisor when required.
Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities.
Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machinery, tools, equipment and materials, and that everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
Perform inspections to ensure that the workers' performance is up to the set standards.
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Direction of Subordinates:
Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of sections activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
Provide personnel appraisal & training requirements for subordinates.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
Reporting:
Prepare departmental reports on time and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.

Key Competencies
Language skills:
Fluent in English Language. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage. Ability to work in a Multinational workforce. Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.
Technical competencies:
Knowledge of paint specification and classification of paints. Knowledge of blasting standards and abrasive classification. Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard. Possess knowledge of MS Office and Project Management skills. Ability to develop, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline-related project and engineering documentation.

Dimensions:
5 to 10 foremen will be under his supervision and direct control.

Working conditions (Indoor/outdoor):
Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and noise while exposed to high fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals. The work can be physically demanding, with a lot of climbing and lifting of heavy equipment.
