Position Purpose
- The Digital Product Owner will own the scoping, planning, delivery, acceptance testing, and implementation of all digital tech initiatives as per Sephora Middle East roadmap.
- You will be responsible for the full product life cycle, liaising with a range of key stakeholders throughout the organisation.
- You will play an integral part in analysing customer needs (internal and external) whilst translating technical requirements into non-technical terms for a range of internal customers.
- Finally, working in collaboration with Digital Product Manager and Digital Engineering Manager to launch initiatives which will make web and app best in class along with offering a great Omni experience to the customer.
Key Accountabilities
- Champion the needs of the Sephora Middle East customer and local business stakeholders to ensure local requirements are prominent on the road map.
- Define the vision for the product and maintain a cohesive vision throughout the process.
- Create a product roadmap based on product vision.
- Identify and prioritize business needs and requirements, define the user target, its expectations, and build product's main features.
- Manage the product backlog and prioritize tasks based on changing requirements.
- Manage full product lifecycle from ideation to launch including research, defining requirements, project management, QA, UAT, and launch strategy.
- Overseeing all stages of product lifecycle from product creation including design and development.
- Define User Stories, a short and clear description of the customers' needs to ensure they can be done within the allocated budget.
- At every stage (or iteration), the Product Backlog is evaluated and presented to the clients to ensure the final product or service fits user requirements.
- Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
- Assemble & lead a cross-functional core team to manage delivery of the product definition and project plan including costs, schedule, risks, contingencies, and estimated business results.
- Manage all external vendors and their deliverables.
- Work with project team and end-users to deliver updates and status reports.
- Run User Tests to have initial client feedback to make the necessary adjustments by taking into account the technical requirements and the developers' questions.
- Independently and proactively lead/facilitate efforts to identify opportunities to leverage technology to enhance the customer experience.
- Communicate with management team, external partners, and business area experts to improve product functionality, resolve issues, and improve consumer satisfaction.
- Define success metrics for new projects and work with the customer experience team to track the performance for existing products to understand the effectiveness of digital products.
- Work with relevant teams to improve and optimize the onsite user experience.
- Research, troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend solutions when challenged by business and technical problems.
- Mitigate conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, translate low-level information to business understanding, and distinguish nice-to-haves from underlying needs.
Skills Experience and Personality
- 5 years proven experience working as Digital Product Owner or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of waterfall, scrum, and agile software development methodologies.
- Working knowledge of product development architecture.
- Proficiency in the use of analytic tools and strong analytical thinking.
- Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles and excellent oral and written communication including presentation skills.
- Ability to work with large teams and a variety of people including users, product development team members, and management team members.
- Understanding of design quality standards.
- Effective people leadership and management skills to support an environment for high-functioning, productive, and engaged teams to operate.
