We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher to inspire and motivate students in mathematics. The successful candidate will deliver innovative lessons promoting analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and real-world application of mathematics concepts. This role requires a professional who can engage diverse learners in a positive and structured environment and contribute to the overall development of the department.
Design and implement dynamic lesson plans that align with the ICS curriculum and international standards.
Break down complex mathematical concepts into manageable steps for students of varying abilities.
Incorporate real-life examples to demonstrate the relevance of math in everyday life.
Use differentiation techniques to meet the needs of students with different learning styles and abilities, including students with learning difficulties or advanced learners.
Prepare students for external examinations, including IGCSE, A-levels, or other standardized tests where applicable.
Regularly assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments such as quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects.
Provide constructive feedback that guides students in their academic growth and helps them understand areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of students' grades, performance, and progress.
Identify students who may need additional support and work closely with the Inclusion Department to develop strategies for intervention.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior to maintain order in the classroom.
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Encourage an interactive classroom atmosphere by promoting active participation, collaboration, and peer learning.
Implement strategies to develop students' problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
Use digital tools and resources (e.g., Smartboards, educational apps, and interactive platforms) to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
Incorporate online assessments and data analytics to monitor student progress and adjust teaching approaches accordingly.
Encourage students to use technology responsibly for research, collaboration, and independent learning.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate cross-curricular concepts and interdisciplinary projects.
Attend department meetings and contribute to discussions on curriculum improvements, teaching strategies, and student progress.
Participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated on the latest educational trends, particularly in mathematics teaching methodologies and technology integration.
Mentor new teachers or student teachers as required, providing support and sharing best practices.
Lead or participate in extracurricular activities such as math clubs, competitions, or student mentoring programs.
Actively contribute to school-wide events including parent-teacher meetings, open days, and school assemblies.
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community, maintaining open lines of communication regarding student progress and well-being.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (a Master's degree in Mathematics or Education is preferred).
Internationally recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in an international or multicultural setting.
Demonstrated ability to teach mathematics to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 (IGCSE and A-level or equivalent).
Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
Native English speaker or highly proficient in English (British qualification or experience preferred).
