Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor closure and reporting using efficient procedures
- Manage and supervise the establishment of annual statutory accounts
- Manage all tax related queries - international taxes, transfer pricing, direct and indirect taxes
- Improve general accounting processes
- Liaise with auditors and banks, other financial institutions
- Engage in projects pertaining to general accounting topics, such as M&A, restructuring, and system migrations.
- Maintain compliance with the company's guidelines
- Monitor accounting internal controls
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related; professional Accounting or Tax qualification is a huge advantage
- Experience within large MNCs is a MUST
- Tax knowledge of the Middle East is a MUST
- Financial Reporting: Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Taxation Knowledge: Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Skills in developing budgets and financial forecasts to guide organizational strategy.
- Accounting Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and ERP systems.
- Auditing: Experience in internal and external auditing processes.
- Team Management: Ability to lead and mentor accounting teams, fostering professional development.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey financial information clearly.
- Strategic Thinking: Capability to align accounting functions with overall business strategy.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and potential risks.
- Problem Solving: Proficient in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
- Compliance: Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards affecting financial reporting and accounting practices.
