Job description

The ideal candidate is a competent Collection Specialist that will contact clients and collect outstanding payments. The position balances maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments. Collection Specialists should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness. This candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating plans and strategies to encourage timely payments from tenants.
  • Monitoring accounts to identify overdue payments and notifying the legal department.
  • Arranging meetings with the tenants, discussing, negotiating and ultimately collecting their overdue payments.
  • Keeping accurate records and reporting on collection activity to the Accounts, Sales, and Legal Department.
  • Prepare and present reports on collection activities (bounced cheques, penalties, overdue payments), and progress.
  • Collecting the relevant, supporting documents and preparing letters for any exceptional case of waiving penalty for a tenant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in SAP success factors is desirable.
  • Knowledge of various collection techniques.
  • Strong organization, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
