Job description

My client is a leading fashion and lifestyle retail distribution company present in the Middle East and North Africa, managing more than 32 international brands. Due to expansion, a number of retail roles have become available both with their HQ and retail stores.

My client is currently recruiting for a Retail Operations Manager. The purpose of this role is to manage retail operations by managing and running the stores professionally, profitably, with high standards of quality and with focus on maximum utilization of resources, in order to meet the operational and sales targets of the organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the store operations for UAE & Bahrain stores in order that stores are run profitably and within the brand guidelines.
  2. Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  3. Conducting inventories and store audits.
  4. Setting and monitoring KPI’s.
  5. Drive sales in the stores in order to meet the targets of the organization by developing and growing a customer focused approach within stores, understanding competition and keeping the store staff focused on the targets.
  6. Providing feedback on the merchandising, pricing and buying.
  7. Monitoring stock.
  8. Generating mystery shopper scores.
  9. Ensure HSE standards are met without exception.

HR, Training & Employee Development

  1. Lead and motivate the team, develop team spirit in order to achieve a forward looking, fully aligned workforce.
  2. Conduct performance appraisals to ensure employees are aware of their strengths and developed in their areas of weakness.
  3. Support the recruitment process of store based roles, ensuring the right caliber of employees are being hired.
  4. Address disciplinary issues in line with the process laid down by HR so that the organization is fair in its treatment.
  5. Create and maintain in-house training material and conduct trainings, both soft skills and product related.

Candidates must have 5 years’ experience within retail and at least 2 years within a similar role. You should have a positive, energetic & self-motivated personality. Knowledge of local cultures and sensitivities, understanding of the competition within the regional market and understanding of fashion and trends etc are all basic requirements.
