In this role, the Test Design Development Engineer will be responsible for PCBA structural test development and will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing test solutions for our printed circuit board products.
Responsibilities
Interaction with different R&D groups from across the company to develop structural test strategies for printed circuit boards including functional test, flying probe, and in-circuit test platforms.
Development of test fixtures both hardware and software including program development quotations, schedules, documentation, validation, and release to production. This will include the design of electronic circuits, wiring, and test software to attain full test automation.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our products, contributing to delivering high-quality products to our customers.
Provide technical support to manufacturing including hands-on debug of test systems.
Contribute to project plans by providing time-scale estimates.
Collaborate with various functional skills in overall printed circuit board, higher level assembly, and system level test development planning and execution.
Contribute to the company’s production engineering objectives regarding new product introduction, process improvement, and lean manufacturing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering / Engineering Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of related experience or 2+ years working in Test Design Engineering or similar.
Desired Candidate Profile
Proven track record in a test development environment including knowledge in bed of nails functional testing.
Experience in programming - NI Teststand or Labview.
Strong understanding of Electronics Components.
Design and application experience of production test equipment.
Experience of PCB design and assembly for test fixtures.
Your drive, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to adapt can make a positive impression.
Knowledge / experience of cellular manufacture, Lean Manufacturing, kaizen, and 5S would be an advantage.
