Job Summary:

The Piping Designer is accountable for producing and maintaining piping deliverables (including but not limited to drawings, BOMs, 3D models, and sketches) in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications within the schedule and budget set out by the Lead Piping Designer/Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the technical integrity of assigned Piping Engineering activities.
• Ensure quality defined in the quality management system as well as compliance with governing rules, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Independently execute the work assigned to the team.
• Contribute to efficient execution in compliance with the project schedule.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Layout design activities on Tender/projects under the direction of a Lead Designer.
• Conduct conceptual layout studies with respect to the scope of supply.
• 3D modelling using PDMS/E3D for piping design of skid packages and interconnections.
• Draught and check detailed design drawings of piping systems and supports in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Prepare and check materials takeoffs and bills of materials.
• Prepare 2D equipment layout, piping layout, general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, and detail drawings using AutoCAD.
• Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from other parties/execution offices.
• Manage drawings and records to demonstrate procedural compliance with QA activities for internal reviews.
• Establish good working relationships and communication with discipline leads, department managers, and clients.
• Adhere to HSE requirements stipulated by Company/Clients.
• Undertake any other general duties as requested; the list of duties is not exhaustive and may change at any time.

Behavioral Skills/Competencies Required:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar position working for EPC Projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Basic piping design knowledge for Process equipment like Separators, Columns, Exchangers, and Fin fan coolers used in Oil & Gas projects.
• Piping design experience related to Process skids and packages for upstream/midstream projects preferred.
• Ability to review technical specifications, P&IDs, etc.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of AutoCAD/Microstation 2D.
• Experience in 3D Modelling using PDMS/E3D and generation of MTO.
• Basic understanding of constructability, operability, and maintainability requirements.
• Good working knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI, etc.).
• Working knowledge of industry standard drafting practices.
• Verbal and written communication in English is mandatory.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team environment. Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Strong work ethic and proactive drive to deliver projects within schedule, ensuring deliverables meet strict quality standards.
• Maintain the highest levels of Health and Safety.

Education and Experience Required:

Essential:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Piping design experience related to Process skids and packages for upstream/midstream projects.
• 3D modelling using PDMS/E3D.
• Prepare 2D equipment layout, piping layout, general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, and detail drawings using AutoCAD.
• MTO generation.
• Experience in Tender engineering.
• Reviewing specifications and drawings.
