Job description
One client, a major UAE-based bank, is looking for experienced program / portfolio project management professionals for a position of Vice President / Senior Vice President in IT Project Portfolio Delivery. This is a permanent and on-site position, based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
A selected and onboarded for this senior role employee will do the following:
Define the portfolio strategy and ensure that projects within the portfolio contribute to the strategic objectives of the bank;
Coordinate the planning and execution of multiple programs and projects, managing cross-functional teams and resources;
Monitor and track the performance of the portfolio, providing reports on status, risks, and risk mitigation plans;
Implement and manage portfolio governance processes, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and frameworks;
Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations, ensuring that the portfolio's value is understood and communicated;
Conduct regular portfolio reviews and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure successful outcomes;
Lead risk identification and risk mitigation processes across the portfolio;
Develop and enhance knowledge and skills of the key team members including the PMs and BAs;
Ensure a high success rate for projects delivered on time, within scope and within budget across the portfolio;
Reduce portfolio-level delivery risks through early identification and mitigation strategies;
Increase visibility and reporting accuracy for the portfolio;
Reduce resource conflicts through improved cross-project resource management processes;
Improve resource onboarding through pipeline management and leveraging ODCs and partners;
Achieve effective portfolio resource utilization rate without exceeding budget limits;
Implement portfolio review processes, with 100% of projects evaluated for alignment to business strategy each quarter;
Achieve 95% of projects staying within budget across the portfolio.
Requirements
Minimum 12 or more years of experience in program portfolio and project management, preferably in banking and / or financial services industries;
Minimum 3 or more years of experience in a similar project portfolio management role, preferably in banking and / or financial services industries;
A Bachelor Degree in project management, engineering, business administration or similar business areas; a Master Degree is preferred.
