Supervise drilling operations at drilling sites, including well planning, wellbore construction, drilling, and completion activities.
Coordinate with drilling contractors, service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure that drilling operations are executed according to plan and meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
Manage drilling crews and support personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Monitor drilling parameters and performance indicators to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions to optimize drilling efficiency and well productivity.
Conduct pre-job safety meetings and safety inspections to ensure that all drilling activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Prepare drilling programs, procedures, and reports, and maintain accurate records of drilling activities, equipment performance, and costs.
Participate in well design reviews, hazard assessments, and risk management activities to identify and mitigate potential drilling hazards and operational risks.
Coordinate with other departments, such as reservoir engineering, geology, and production, to ensure alignment of drilling activities with reservoir objectives and production targets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Professional engineering licensure preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, drilling equipment, and drilling technologies used in onshore and/or offshore drilling operations.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate drilling crews and support personnel.
Thorough understanding of drilling safety regulations, industry best practices, and risk management principles.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
