DHA-Pediatric Nurse
Job description
Patient Assessment and Care:
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of pediatric patients, including physical, developmental, and psychological evaluations.
- Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and progress, adjusting care plans as needed based on changes in condition.
- Provide age-appropriate nursing interventions and treatments according to each child’s needs.
Care Plan Development and Management:
- Develop individualized care plans that address patient and family needs, using a family-centered care approach.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in specialized pediatric procedures, such as catheterization, blood sampling, and respiratory therapy.
Family Education and Support:
- Educate families and caregivers on managing the child’s condition at home, including medications, nutrition, hygiene, and follow-up care.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to families, addressing concerns and providing resources.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Coordinate with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing updates on patient progress and any changes in condition.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Accurately document all assessments, treatments, patient interactions, and care provided in the healthcare system.
- Ensure compliance with DHA standards, protocols, and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Infection Control and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for pediatric patients.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, providing effective and safe interventions for pediatric emergencies.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous education and training, maintaining current knowledge of pediatric care best practices and DHA guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing the standards of pediatric nursing care.
