Job description

Overview:
The position is for a skilled electrical engineer proficient in Oil and Gas projects execution. The candidate must have sound skills and knowledge in project management, engineering, managing design, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. The engineer must be proficient in making design, engineering selection, preparing material submissions, and technical submissions, and must be very strong in delivering project engineering documentation required for EPC and Oil & Gas customers. Ability to coordinate between different vendors, OEM, and design, production teams for delivery of the project is required. Must have good experience in the Electrical, EPC, Oil and Gas field and work independently on tasks. Responsible for delivering project engineering and coordination of medium complexity projects under minimal or no supervision. Seek opportunities to learn, gain experience, and advance. The role will be based on-site in Birkat Al Awamir and will involve visits to multiple site and project areas.

Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning and Design:

  1. Participate in project planning, ensuring that electrical systems meet project requirements, codes, and OEM and end-user standards.
  2. Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the broader project scope.
  3. Manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and MOMs, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the project team.
Equipment Selection and Specification:
  1. Select and specify electrical equipment based on project requirements and technical specifications.
  2. Prepare equipment datasheets and technical bid evaluations.
  3. Prepare and submit MAR and technical documentation for the project as per VDRL documents.
Reporting:
  1. Prepare regular reports on project status, including progress, issues, and upcoming milestones, for presentation to project stakeholders.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
  1. Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and select vendors.
  2. Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  1. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  2. Conduct quality assurance checks on electrical installations.
  3. QHSE policy adherence and implementation across projects.
Project Coordination:
  1. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration of electrical systems with overall project design.
  2. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
Documentation:
  1. Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records as per the approved MDRs/VDRLs.
Change Management:
  1. Assist in managing changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring proper documentation and stakeholder communication.
Client Interaction:
  1. Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing project updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Education & Certification:
  1. PMP in Project Management is mandatory.
  2. Electrical engineering knowledge in the switchgear industry is required.
  3. MS Office tools advanced level - Reporting, presentations skills are required.
Additional Qualifications:
  1. ERP and Project Management Tools - PMMT tools and SharePoint on the web.
  2. Collaboration Tools (e.g., BIM 360, MS Teams, SharePoint).
Skills & Competencies:
  1. Good communication (Verbal & Written) & interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, single line diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  3. Strong project management skills, with a focus on planning, coordination, and execution.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with all parties.
  5. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary project team.
Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum 8-10 years of work experience in Oil and Gas and EPC experience preferred.
  3. Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
