Full job description

Responsibilities

1. Familiar with the nursery setting philosophy, code of conduct, and educational programs.
2. Cooperates with colleagues to implement programs effectively.
3. Flexible with team members and adapts to last-minute changes; approaches problem-solving creatively.
4. Serves as a role model for teaching assistants.
5. Prepares a child portfolio with artwork and development samples.
6. Assists in preparation of resources needed for class activities.
7. Maintains inventory of classroom resources and reports damaged items.
8. Ensures health and safety is maintained in the nursery.
9. Assists children with toileting and hygiene.
10. Supervises children during lunch and reports concerns.
11. Informs the Nursery Head of any concerns regarding children, parents, or staff.
12. Provides pastoral care and creates a secure learning environment.
13. Prepares activities in advance for the next day.
14. Arrives on time to set up activities before children arrive.
15. Develops and organizes learning materials for children.
16. Participates in planning meetings to improve the nursery.
17. Plans enjoyable activities according to the nursery curriculum.
18. Organizes special events and celebrations in the nursery.
19. Encourages development through songs, stories, and role-play.
20. Possesses knowledge of EYFS and plans activities related to nursery themes.
21. Follows nursery policies and procedures for smooth operation.
22. Reviews and amends educational programs as necessary.
23. Implements educational objectives for each classroom.
24. Plans monthly subjects and activities.
25. Evaluates children's knowledge against set objectives.

Job Type / Category:

1. 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday - 5 days a week.
2. 2-year contract renewable.
3. Salary: AED 5,000/month

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

1. University Degree in Early Childhood Education
2. or University Degree in another field with a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3)
3. or High school diploma with a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3) and at least two years of experience in child care or education.
4. All qualifications are subject to ADEK approvals.

Ability to commute/relocate:

1. Abu Dhabi: Reliable commuting or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
