Job description

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the surgical environment, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
Collaborate closely with the surgical team to anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures, enhancing efficiency and patient safety.
Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgeries, alerting the medical team to any changes or concerns immediately.
Implement and uphold strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of postoperative complications and ensure patient safety.
Participate in pre-operative assessments, gathering essential medical history and preparing patients mentally for their surgical experience.
Document surgical procedures and patient responses accurately in real-time, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and legal standards.
Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions, addressing any concerns to promote recovery and satisfaction.
Engage in continuous professional development through training and attending workshops, remaining current with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree from an accredited institution, providing a strong foundation in patient care.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), ensuring preparedness for emergency situations.
Current and valid nursing license, demonstrating compliance with state regulations and readiness to practice in the operating room.
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, preferably within the surgical unit, showcasing hands-on expertise.
Proficiency in surgical instrumentation and operating room technologies, allowing for effective assistance during complex procedures.
