Transport Officer

Job Summary:
The Transport Officer is responsible for overseeing the efficient and smooth operation of transportation services within the automobile and automotive industry in Dubai, UAE. The role involves managing a fleet of vehicles and coordinating transportation activities to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fleet Management: Manage and maintain the organization's fleet of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and other specialized vehicles. Ensure all vehicles are in good working condition and compliant with local regulations and safety standards.
2. Route Planning: Develop and optimize transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery of goods and services. Consider factors such as traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and customer requirements to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
3. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to plan and schedule transportation activities. Ensure the timely pickup and delivery of goods, monitor transportation progress, and address any issues or delays that may arise.
4. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with local transportation regulations, permits, and licensing requirements. Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Prepare and submit reports on transportation activities as required.
5. Cost Management: Monitor transportation costs, fuel consumption, and maintenance expenses. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement measures to optimize efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
6. Team Management: Supervise and provide guidance to a team of drivers and transportation staff. Assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and organize training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team members.
7. Safety and Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of accidents or incidents. Conduct regular safety audits, promote safe driving practices, and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
8. Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders. Address any transportation-related concerns or complaints promptly and ensure a high level of customer service.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Proven experience in transport operations within the automobile and automotive industry. In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations in Dubai, UAE. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in transportation management systems and software. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
