Job description
Responsible for providing high-level claims handling support to Vice President – Legal. This position requires a good understanding of the insurance market structure, claims handling, the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The Insurance claims handler will deal with claims made on the Group’s insurance policies excluding Group health/life.
Handing Group related insurance claims including Medical Malpractice Insurance, Property all Risk and Cyber Insurance.
Liaising with Insurers and Brokers and/or their representatives to ensure timely submission of all claims and supporting documents.
Manage the insurance claim process, including investigating the insurance claim, maintaining accurate records – both electronic and, where necessary, hard copy files, supervising brokers and their claims departments.
Handling email and telephone enquiries from the Group and managing claims from start to end.
Gathering all relevant information and documents to support the claim Group at the request of the Insurer/Broker and/or their representatives and ensuring the claim is processed quickly and correctly.
Examining the details on completed forms and checking these against the cover provided by the Insurance policy.
Keeping the Facility informed of the progress of the claim.
General administration and organisation including orderly document management of both electrical and paper files to ensure ready accessibility.
Following best practice procedures to ensure new claims processes are completed within a certain time frame.
Completing, maintaining, and regularly updating the Insurance claims log as required.
Ensure all internal reports and supporting evidence are provided to Insurers and/or Brokers in a timely manner and liaise regularly with the Insurers to establish the status of ongoing Insurance claims.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust arrangements for insurance claims management across the organization ensuring a systematic approach is in place to acknowledge, investigate and intimate all new claims to Insurers and/Broker
Work with the VP Legal during the renewal cycle to collate, sense check claims data and obtain information from other areas of the business for renewal of the insurance portfolio and assist in the discussion of agreed terms with Insurers
Maintain accurate diary system to ensure Insurance premiums are paid on time and in terms with the Insurance Agreement
Ad hoc assistance with the conduct / management of litigated claims
Performing other related duties as required.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in law, Insurance, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree will be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes, and legal regulations.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well versed with Word, Power Point and Excel.
Ability to think critically and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Experience
10 to 12 years experience in Insurance claims handling required. Legal background in UAE will be an advantage.
