About the Role & Opportunity
We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our UAE team who will be responsible for overseeing the company’s risk management activities and ensuring effective mitigation strategies for operational, financial, and business-related risks. Identifying, evaluating, and managing risk will be vital in safeguarding the company’s interests and supporting our clients in achieving sustainable growth. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, assessing emerging risks, and advising on risk management policies and procedures in line with industry regulations and best practices.
- Handling the Risk Management function
- Adhere to risk management standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Sign off the Guidelines with the appropriate departments.
- Revise the risk policies and guidelines on yearly basis
- Ensure proper Risk Management reporting.
- Prepare presentation to be quarterly reported to Board Risk Committee
- Prepare presentation/ reporting to be reported to the supervisory authority
- Completing the risk management framework and ensuring proper implementation within the departments covering the strategic
- Risk, oversight, conduct of business, regulatory and AML with all underlying sub-categories as outlined in the Company's Risk Management Policy.
- Taking the lead (supported by other team members) in the monitoring of the product approval framework
- Taking the lead to all company's answers/ reporting to the regulator's demands or expectations of any kind as well as preparing Solvency, Liquidity & Investment monitoring
- Preparing, analyzing & enhancing the Technical Monitoring for all Line of business
- Coordinate in between first, second and third line of defense
- Provide consultancy services, if it is required by any department regarding company policy and procedures, suspicious cases, high risk area and other top risk assessments
About the Skills, Education & Experience Required
To be considered for this role you will need to have at least 5 to 8 years of experience as Risk Manager, preferably with blue chip companies in following industries: insurance, banking, management, or technical consulting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Master’s Degree (optional) in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and market risks.
- Proficiency in insurance products, underwriting processes, and claims management.
- Solid knowledge of UAE and international insurance regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information to non-experts and senior executives.
