Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Groups and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a key member of our events department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing group events and functions, ensuring exceptional experiences for our clients and guests.
Manage the entire event lifecycle, from initial client consultation to post-event evaluation
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Create detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and logistics plans
Coordinate all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and entertainment
Oversee on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction
Manage multiple events simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event delivery
Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare reports for management and clients
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planning
Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards for all events
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field
3-5 years of experience in event planning or hospitality industry
Proven track record of successfully planning and executing group events and functions
Strong knowledge of event planning processes, vendor management, and budgeting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management software
Problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry in Dubai and the UAE
Familiarity with local vendors and suppliers in the region
Professional certification in event planning (e.g., CMP - Certified Meeting Professional) preferred
Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
