The AHK is part of the worldwide network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad and is tasked with the promotion of bilateral economic and business relations. This is accomplished and conducted through various customer-oriented services, events and export initiatives by the German government and other stakeholders. In addition to this, AHK is a communication and networking platform for its approximately 700 members based in the region and Germany. The AHK in Dubai has a regional responsibility for the countries Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq and Pakistan and also maintains offices in Abu Dhabi, Doha and Muscat, Baghdad and Erbil.
The Assistant Manager will support the experienced Trade Fair executives of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK).
About the position
Assisting the Trade Fair team in promoting German and UAE trade fairs represented by AHK, specifically by:
Promoting trade fairs using various marketing tools, such as email, social media and relevant business platforms, using various digital materials provided by partners.
Supporting and participating in the team’s outreach to German and local exhibitors at local trade fairs.
Updating and enhancing AHK’s trade fair database focusing on various industry segments, ensuring accuracy.
Conducting market and data research on various trade fair topics and industries.
Assisting trade fair exhibitors and visitors with visa-related enquiries and requirements.
Supporting the team in organizing trade fair delegations.
Supporting the team with administrative tasks as well as event organization.
Handling routine trade fair related inquiries independently, after adequate introduction.
Prospect to grow and oversee all related activities and strategies within certain trade fairs and/or trade fair companies represented by AHK.
Required qualifications
Professional with an academic/educational background in business, marketing & communication, events, business development or related subjects.
Proficiency in operating with standard MS Office software, social media platforms and CRM systems (training for AHK-specific CRM will be provided).
Excellent spoken and written command of English; German and Arabic are additional assets.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy and managing deadlines effectively.
Proactive attitude and able to take on responsibilities.
Good interpersonal skills and customer-focused approach for interacting with local and international partners.
Willingness and flexibility to travel to Germany, if needed by the trade fair partners.
