Laboratory Technician

Job Overview:

Laboratory technicians are responsible for analyzing various biological samples to treat or diagnose different diseases. Their main duties include preparing biological samples for tests, conducting blood tests, and creating reports of their findings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collects, processes, and handles blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper collection of samples.
2. Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens using advanced laboratory techniques.
3. Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from a patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein while observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
4. Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
5. Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.

Qualification & Experience:

1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably within the UAE.
3. MOH license or eligibility as per UAE regulatory requirements.
4. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team, and excellent communication skills.
