Astra Tech is a UAE-based technology investment and development group, embarked on a mission to build the world’s first ultra platform & ecosystem, that will disrupt the consumer technology space by rethinking the boundaries of a digital ecosystem.

It will be the first of its kind in the MEA region to simplify the way people & businesses interact, engage, and transact with each other. The platform will provide seamless connectivity between consumers and businesses, enabling users to effortlessly access home, e-commerce, and fintech services in one place. Astra’s mission is to enrich people’s lives by making communication and e-commerce more seamless, connected, and natural.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the stability, reliability, and high performance of the backend system.
• System Design: Responsible for the architecture design and technology selection of the super app backend system, ensuring that the system meets business requirements and highly scalable.
• Development Implementation: Collaborate closely with team members to participate in the development and implementation of the backend system, ensuring code quality, project progress, and timely delivery.
• Problem Solving: Timely and proactively address technical issues and challenges in the backend system to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation.
• Team Development: Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical expertise and foster career growth, creating a positive learning environment within the team.

Experience Required

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or other STEM majors.
• Over 10 years of development experience in messenger backend or other high-concurrency backend systems.
• Mastery in distributed system design and microservices architecture.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming paradigm, and highly skilled in Java programming languages; familiar with functional programming paradigms, and proficient in using Rust programming languages.
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals; familiar with operating system principles, computer architecture, algorithms, computer networks, as well as foundational theories of distributed systems and database principles.
• Passionate about new technologies, with a strong self-demand for user experience and performance enhancement, actively explore and adopt emerging technologies, such as AI to enhance productivity and drive innovation in backend development.
• Strong English communication skills for seamless collaboration with teams.
