AV Technician
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures.
- Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety.
- Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs all audio visual lighting and related equipment.
- Ensures the optimum performance of all A/V and lighting related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance routine.
- Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency.
- Completes all work orders with due diligence.
- Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; and activities.
- Maintains A/V and lighting shop drawings and files.
- Maintains equipment catalogue and tagging directories.
- Completes tasks as assigned by AV Supervisor / Shift Supervisor.
- Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area.
- Reports and documents potential safety hazards.
- Participates as directed in the emergency response team.
Qualifications:
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Previous experience with painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related experience is an asset.
- Previous experience with pool and spa is an asset.
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Enthusiastic and dependable.
- Active listening skills.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and can make decisions in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Proficient in the English language (verbal & written); a second language is an asset.
- Customer service skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
