Job Description:

The Site Engineer responsibilities include managing the projects and executing the job duties of site installation with the help of his team for ground track, overhead tracks, and port cranes.

Site Engineer responsibilities and job roles include:

1. Managing the sites and administrating the installation staff of the company.
2. Ensuring the proper initiation of all the equipment and machinery of the same and that of the clients.
3. Being conversant with the tolerance requirements, structural calculations, and technician works related to port crane services, ground & overhead tracks, and other technical parameters required during the course of time and after training.
4. Coordinating with clients to ensure the mob dates, periods, installation schedules, etc.
5. Conducting site inspections to ensure that all structural elements are being built according to the design plans and specifications.
6. Reviewing and approving structural design drawings and calculations.
7. Coordinating with the project team to ensure that all structural work is being completed on schedule and within budget.
8. Monitoring construction progress and providing regular updates to the Service and project manager.
9. Collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to resolve any structural issues that may arise.
10. Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and construction schedules.
11. Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
12. Preparing cost estimates and ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available.
13. Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on projects.
14. Authorizing technical drawings and engineering plans.
15. Creating structural models using computer-aided design software.
16. Choosing appropriate materials based on structural specifications.
17. Drawing up work schedules and communicating any adjustments to crew members and clients.
18. Gathering data, compiling reports, and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
19. Delegating tasks and scheduling meetings and training sessions where required.
20. Tracking work progress for all running projects and reporting to SMs and PMs.
21. Completing quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.
22. Conducting quality control inspections to ensure that all work meets the required standards.
23. Identifying and addressing any potential safety hazards on the construction site and ensuring all HSE requirements are followed and maintained at the site.
24. Providing pre-start briefing and toolbox talks to the site employees.
25. Making recommendations on cost-effective and sustainable material use.
26. Monitoring and recording extra works, and informing the Service and Project Manager in a timely manner for claiming variation orders.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Proven track experience in mechanical structures and construction such as overhead crane structures, port crane structures, etc.
2. Excellent knowledge in construction methods, codes, and regulations.
3. Good knowledge of the steel-related construction market, technical aspects of the steel industry, and especially of the crane track industry being an asset.
4. Fluent in English; any other language being an asset, preferably Arabic.
5. Good knowledge of the Office Package, including but not limited to Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, etc.
6. Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D/solid works/STAAD/REVIT or equivalent structural design software.
7. Any other technical or management software being an asset.
8. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/structural or equivalent.
9. Any other educational proved experience being an asset.
10. At least 3-5 years of management experience in projects related to mechanical structural construction/steel/port cranes/railway industry.
