Job description

Purpose for this role:

To develop and ensure effective implementation of various communication plans that are aligned to Masdar's overall communication strategy with a strong (but not exclusive) focus on Masdar's financial priorities and content.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of yearlong communications plans with a strong focus on Masdar's financial priorities using a range of communications tactics across traditional and digital media channels.
  • Develop and execute strategic communications campaigns.
  • Develop timely and accurate content to ensure key messages are communicated across all channels.
  • Work with the stakeholder outreach teams to encourage advocacy and ensure that key messages are being communicated effectively.
  • Develop an appropriate messaging house and relevant proof points with a strong focus on Masdar's financial priorities that will be used across all materials and channels.
  • Support and oversee the development of a range of communications materials including website, press releases, flyers, brochures, and social media.
  • Develop relevant briefing documents and talking points for key spokespeople.
  • Oversee video content including storyboarding and messaging.
  • Support the wider team in developing a monthly newsletter by sharing insights, collating video testimonials, and supporting the team with reaching out to key contributors.
  • Develop, draft, and edit compelling content from press releases/articles for publication in national, regional, and international media in a journalistic style and on a broad range of topics including financial, technical, and policy-related issues.
  • Write and edit op-eds, features, letters, and Q&As.
  • Work with relevant PR agencies and outreach partners with a strong focus on Masdar's financial priorities to ensure content conveys the right messages and is in line with the required standards.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Media, PR, and Events companies for all incoming press office inquiries and requests.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local/regional media with a strong focus on Masdar's financial priorities to support communications objectives.
  • Assess and recommend incoming media inquiries and opportunities.
  • Oversee hosted media programs.
  • Proactively pitch announcements and media interviews.
  • Prepare written responses to questions posed by the media.
  • Develop compelling media pitches to target journalists.
  • Collate and analyze media coverage.
  • Identify media opportunities and implement campaigns around key programs and issues including monitoring media cycles and updating media lists.
  • Ensure relationships with service level providers are managed smoothly and effectively in a way that guarantees that Masdar is provided with quality and timely services in line with relevant service level agreements.
  • As required by management, personally manage key relationships/negotiations with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure the negotiation and agreement of favorable deals that safeguard Masdar's best interests while ensuring the delivery of necessary needs/goals.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of unit systems, policies, and procedures covering all areas of activity to fulfill relevant procedural/legislative requirements and standards while ensuring that policies and procedures support the delivery of the strategy.
  • Complete all relevant reports in a comprehensive, accurate, and timely manner and comply with international principles of corporate governance and standards and shareholder requirements.

Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or relevant Master's degree from a top-tier internationally recognized higher education institution.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, or related discipline.

Preferred Experience:

  • 6-8 years of experience in corporate communications and content development in large and reputable organizations with a proven track record in the management of teams delivering content in a challenging environment or equivalent experience.
  • Financial Communication: Transactional Reports, Financial deals, Annual financial reports.
  • Agency Experience: Must have worked on financial projects.
  • Must be familiar with the UAE Financial Regulator.

Job Specific Skills:

  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills leading to a consultative approach within a corporate/multifunctional environment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of financial transactions and regulatory reporting in diverse global markets.
  • Strong understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture and strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing trends in the industry and beyond.
  • Knowledge of diverse communications media and channels and latest trends.
  • Strong knowledge of budget management.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy with a strong background in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent ability to plan and organize work and prioritize projects.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
