Job Overview

They are looking for an experienced executive to lead a team reporting into the CEO. The Chief Accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights and will be ensuring high-level professional support to clients.

Responsibilities:

Client Advisory and Support

1. Assist clients with tax optimization strategies to minimize liabilities while staying within legal boundaries.
2. Provide insights on complex accounting issues, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring, helping clients make informed decisions.
3. Tailor accounting services to meet unique client needs, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
4. Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and comply with accounting standards (e.g., VAT, or IFRS).
5. Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to guide strategic decisions.

Regulatory Compliance

1. Ensure that the firm and its clients comply with all UAE tax laws, including filing returns, making timely payments, and responding to UAE tax authority inquiries.
2. Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating with auditors.

Leadership and Management

1. Manage and mentor the accounting team, ensuring they meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards in their work.
2. Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.

Strategic Contribution

1. Contribute to the firm’s overall growth by identifying new service opportunities, improving existing processes, and enhancing client offerings.
2. Identify financial risks within the firm and client portfolios and recommend mitigation strategies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

1. Minimum 8 - 10 years in Accounting, with at least 3 – 5 years in a Management position.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
3. Previous experience in working within auditing or tax consulting firm in the UAE.
4. Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA or CPA required.
5. Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounting principles, UAE VAT and corporate tax law compliance within UAE.
6. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
7. Proven track record of managing teams and influencing decision-making at the executive level.
8. Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain relationships with high-value clients.
9. Deep understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial analysis in UAE.
