BC Academy International Nursery is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teacher with expertise in literacy, phonics, numeracy, curiosity approaches, forest schools, and hygge, to join our dynamic teaching team. RequirementsApplicants must be native English speakers, have at least a Cache 3 or equivalent certification, and have at least 3-5 years experience working in a Nursery school.
Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons using the curiosity approach to students in Nursery, FS1 or FS2, ensuring alignment with the British Framework for Early Years.
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities to support student learning with a focus on core skills development.
- Use a range of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, including the integration of hands-on activities, group work, and multimedia resources.
- Build strong foundational skills in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based learning, ensuring students are well-prepared for primary education.
- Monitor and assess student progress through continuous assessment, providing daily communication to parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and integrate real-world applications into teaching.
- Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and community initiatives to promote student engagement and school spirit.
- Contribute to inspection and accreditation preparation processes, maintaining high teaching and learning standards.
Essential Requirements:- A Cache 3 or a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or a relevant subject.
- Specialization in phonics, literacy or numeracy with proven expertise in teaching these skills.
- At least 3-5 years of teaching experience in a Nursery/Early Years setting.
- A deep understanding of the developmental needs of Early Years children and the ability to create differentiated learning experiences.
- Strong knowledge of continuous provision and assessment strategies, with the ability to track and support individual student progress.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with integrating technology and innovative teaching methods into the classroom.
Desirable Requirements:- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- Additional training or certification in phonics, literacy or numeracy pedagogy.
- Experience in designing and implementing curriculum enhancements or school-wide initiatives.
- Familiarity with inspection frameworks such as KHDA, BSO, or Ofsted, and experience in preparing for inspections.
- Experience in a multicultural and international school setting.
