Job Description:

The Sales & Business Development Director will be responsible for driving business growth within the Group. He/She will develop a robust business pipeline, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth through innovative solutions.

He/She will develop a network of contacts to attract new clients, research new market opportunities, oversee growth projects, and make sales projections and forecasts in line with projected income.

Responsibilities:

  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business and reach new audiences.
  • Work strategically - carry out necessary planning to implement operational changes.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
  • Discuss promotional strategies with the top management & GMs of respective Business Units.
  • Create development plans and forecast sales targets and growth projections.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive company growth and profitability.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, pitching, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking, and other channels.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and events to build business network and profile.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and establish connections.
  • Meet with customers/clients face-to-face or over the phone.
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers, clients, partners, and sponsors to generate repeat business as well as finding new opportunities.
  • Understand the needs of the customers and respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Lead and support bid-writing for new grants and contracts where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, Business Units, Operations) to create tailored solutions for potential clients.
  • Prepare and present business proposals, RFPs, and presentations to senior leadership and client decision-makers.
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present the findings to top management/GMs of Business Units.
  • Ensure staff are on board throughout the organization and understand the need for change and what is required of them.
  • Attach goals for the team business development and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Train business developers and sales colleagues.
  • Call weekly interim meetings with the subordinates to discuss and track their progress.

Requirements:

  • Minimum experience of 15+ years in sales & business development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Exposure to the services industry would be an asset.
  • Strong ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities through strategic thinking and market analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing successful sales and business development strategies.
  • Adept at building relationships with senior executives, stakeholders, and industry leaders.
  • Solid understanding of business dynamics, sales cycles, and consultative selling techniques.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms or similar tools.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven attitude, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue goals.
