Teacher - Mathematics

• A clear understanding of the British curriculum from Year 6 to Year 8 – must have subject knowledge and ability to effectively plan and teach Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 Mathematics
• Organising classroom provision, learning resources, and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment
• Planning, preparing, and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the classes taught
• Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching
• Observing and assessing children in line with the school assessment policy
• Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this
• Ensuring the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum
• Taking responsibility for the progress of classes taught
• Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students’ development using the school's designated assessment system
• Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention
• Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings
• Following the school’s Behaviour Policy
• Managing classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils
• Maintaining good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school’s Behaviour Policy
• Being a positive role model and demonstrating consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils
• Having high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners
• Ensuring the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum
• Carrying out duties as directed and within the school’s policy
• Working as part of a department team, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team
• Supporting the organising and taking part in school events, outings, and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding students’ achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate
• Making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
• Running a weekly ECA

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience in English National Curriculum with Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 experience
