Job Description

• Operate, maintain, repair, and make necessary adjustments to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, split A/C units, window A/C units, cold rooms, coolers, ice machines, extract fans, and all HVAC-related equipment.
• Coordinate with fire fighting contractors on scheduled maintenance and ensure the air-conditioning system responds as per the cause and effect matrix.
• Ensure sufficient stock of spare parts for A/C and refrigeration-related equipment and thoroughly check the quality of purchased materials.
• Execute energy-saving measures and help the department reduce energy costs.
• Carry out daily checks on cooling towers, chillers, primary and secondary pumps, AHUs, FAHUs, water treatment, and major refrigeration equipment.
• Ensure all operating parameters are set as desired for intended operation.
• Familiarize yourself with the total layout of the building and estate regarding safety aspects such as isolation points, etc.
• Perform preventive maintenance work, such as servicing motors, air-conditioning, and refrigerators as per the maintenance schedule, and maintain service/history reports.
• Attend to repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment such as screw/centrifugal type chillers, cooling towers, make water systems, walk-in chillers, freezers, and other commercial industrial refrigeration equipment, window units, split units, blower coil units, air-handling units, and fan coil units.
• Advise improvements to the present system to optimize the operating efficiency and economy of the system.

Qualifications

• 2 years Trade Certificate in R/AC and Refrigeration engineering.
• 4 years of experience in a similar field; hotel experience is preferred.
• Practical and theoretical skills in chillers, cold-storage, air-conditioning, and electricity.
• Languages: Conversant in English; Arabic is an added advantage.
