Responsible for operating and setting up CNC vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis machining centers.
Duties (Authority)
Perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, material properties, shop math, inspecting parts to drawing requirements, and troubleshooting malfunctions when necessary.
Duties (Responsibility)
Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on the machine.
Select and install cutting tools in the machine spindle.
Using the DNC, load job programs into the machine control or enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions from the database.
Calculate and set machine controls to position the spindle in relation to the workpiece and regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
Operate the machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions, change cutting tools, and set up according to the required machining sequence or measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Discuss control media errors with the foreman or programmer to resolve problems and document the in-process inspection procedures in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedures.
Perform routine daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Duties (Accountability)
Review setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions. Read complex blueprints, bills of materials, and other specifications to determine product requirements.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of at least 3 years of experience as a CNC Milling Operator (UAE).
Skills & Specialized Knowledge:
Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
