Logistics Manager

We are recruiting a Logistics Manager for one of our clients based in Dubai, UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Look over the dispatch of cement and clinker via road and sea.
2. Act as the overall in charge of all shipping activities including bulk and container shipments.
3. Manage various divisions of the business including shipping, land transport, air freight, contract logistics, and warehousing.
4. Arrange container and road logistics for the company and distributors across the GCC, Indian subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa.
5. Collaborate closely with shipping lines, freight forwarding, and NVOCC professionals.
6. Liaise effectively with shipping lines, suppliers, and port authorities to share training and knowledge on vessel schedules.
7. Evaluate ships by comparing freight and hire rates including reviewing charter parties.
8. Communicate with owners, charterers, and co-brokers to advise them on various pros and cons for successful fixtures.
9. Prepare distribution plans to ensure smooth logistics operations.
10. Coordinate with production, materials, and trading departments to develop a logistics plan for shipments.
11. Control weighbridge operations and plan road transport for materials from the factory to the port and other distribution centers and terminals.

Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
2. 4-5 years of experience as a Logistics Manager in the cement or manufacturing industry.
3. Strong hands-on experience in exports.
4. Excellent communication skills are essential.
