Job Description:
Due to increased enrollment, North American International School is searching for a capable and trustworthy middle school English teacher to join our team of educators. Employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing engaging, differentiated lesson plans and curricula, based on California State Standards, collaborating with teachers within the English department, providing timely and meaningful feedback on student assessments, and addressing student performance issues. Potential candidates should be able to teach students from varied cultural backgrounds and be able to create lessons that adapt to various levels of learning within the classroom. Qualified candidates with teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) certification will be given top priority.
Middle School English Teacher Responsibilities:
Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines.
Analyzing MAP data to adapt students’ results to their learning to increase students’ MAP scores.
Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
Establishing classroom environments and inquiry-based activities that ensure all students achieve the standards-based objectives.
Identifying and providing intervention-based language instruction for English Language Learners.
Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling to attain the standards presented.
Grading papers, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
Creating an inquiry-based learning environment.
Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.
